About Me

My name is Dianna Hochella

I am a distinguished music educator specializing in vocal music, world drumming, and drama. I passionately enrich students' learning experiences. I have taught Vocal Music and World Drumming for Clague Middle School in the Ann Arbor Public Schools and hav been the Assistant Director and Conductor of the Detroit Opera Youth Chorus (formerly MOTCC). I have a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Radford University in Virginia and a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Michigan. As a member of the Michigan Opera Theatre Chorus in Detroit, MI, I performed in numerous MOT main stage productions including the world premiere of Cyrano and Margaret Garner. I spend my school days teaching musicianship, culture, style, and life-skills to music students. I have conducted numerous Children’s Operas at the Detroit Opera House including "The Hobbit" and "H.M.S. Pinafore" as well as directed the Clague Drama Club in "Alice in Wonderland" and "Matilda". I am passionate about sharing my love of vocal arts and theater with students because each day is filled with potential, laughter, and moments of individual growth and development.
